The Night It Came Together

None of us will ever forget the night when we put our first quilt together. It was a beautiful evening when us few girls gathered together that night to sew the work of our hands together. We hummed to our favorite tunes and laughed hysterically at Tim Hawkins and chatted about recent happenings in that homey living room while knitting and sewing the squares together. All the while, the rich and warm smell of freshly-baked brownies wafted through the air. We talked and sang ourselves silly and told hilarious stories of when we were younger. While I didn’t make it to the end, I have no doubt that when they finished, a wonderful feeling became of them. The Sunday we gave the quilt to the founders of Feeding the Orphans was wonderful, too. I’m sure that they weren’t half as proud and happy as we were when we presented the masterpiece to them. Even after a few weeks, wondering thoughts loom around us. We have no idea what the quilt’s money will be used for, but our imaginations are limitless. The future is full of mystery–and excitement.

Photos of the finished quilt will be posted shortly!
